The bubble you people live in is astounding.
If there was nothing to say, his inner circle, including his daughter, wouldn’t have said it.

Are you calling Ivanka a liar? Bill Barr?

ETA - are you talking about the steering wheel testimony? Being a plant? If so, that would actually be genius. Diabolical, but genius. However, I don’t see what’s in it for Hutchinson.

There were no clear statements by either of these two about Trump that he was acting in a criminal way.

Trump's not on trial and McCarthy rejected his chance to have cross-examiners on the panel. We've been over this previously.

Not in that level. Those people are the best of the best in what they do and like Navy Seals and Special Forces in the military they only report to their superiors about their job. They all have top secret clearance and not even their wives they can talk to. They don't chit chat to lower ranks in the galley or gym or go complaining about their Commanding Officer to lower junior officers or enlisted ranks. Like Navy Seals, Secret Agents are the cream of the crop and they are tight in their jobs and their inner circle. Their job is not politics or to get along with lower rank staff. Their main job is to protect the President and only report to their superiors about their job. That's it.

That's not how they work. You don't get to that level by having loose lips.

This is just some MAGAt who knows how devastating her testimony was today and is trying to discredit her in the court of public opinion.

From some of the posts here, their ploy worked in some places. When the agents clear it up, they pranksters are hoping nobody hears the retraction.

Maybe Google secret service scandals. There’s been a few. The boys like to party.

You mean lying to the entire electorate about a Presidential election being stolen in order to stay in power as an illegitimate despot isn’t acting in a criminal way?

If it isn’t it should be.

Trump's opinion is not a lie. It's his opinion...one I disagree with BTW.

I think we all might be getting ahead of ourselves, and some media sources are as well. Words are being put into Hutchinson's mouth. Hutchinson says Trump moved his hand toward the front of the vehicle to grab at the steering wheel. She doesn't say he grabbed the steering wheel. She quotes Bobby Engel telling Trump to take his hand off the steering wheel while grabbing Trump's arm. That implies that he did grab the wheel, but she does not say that. Also, while Engel is holding Trump's arm, Trump apparently made a movement with his other arm toward Engel's collarbone/clavicle. We are imagining he was going for his throat but that could have been an elbow, and not a one-handed choke attempt. Only one hand was free. The described gesture toward his clavicles was made by Tony Ornato, not Engel who was there but did not correct or contradict what was said. Ornato was relaying what he learned from Engel who was present. At any rate, there was some commotion in the "Beast" that was being retold later about Trump's anger at not going to the Capitol. Apparently, Meadows let Trump believe that he would be able to go directly to the Capitol but left it to the Secret Service detail to deal with Trump's anger.

adding for clarity: Anthony Ornato is the Assistant Director of the United States Secret Service Office of Training. Donald Trump named him White House chief of operations in 2019. Ornato joined the Secret Service in 1997.

Exactly, this is for information gathering. Not a trial.

I am sure that if Trump wants to testify under oath the committee would welcome it. Is he offering to testify? The ratings would be pretty good ... tell him that and he might be tempted!

Trump is the one who routinely
  • refuses subpoenas,
  • tries to make the bogus claim that he has executive privilege to keep witnesses from testifying,
  • has stolen evidence and (very literally) destroyed evidence

Anyway, he is well known to be a liar, so nothing he says is worth the paper to write it down. Trump is a perjury waiting to happen. He would be the goose that lays the golden eggs if he were to testify under oath.

Trump was behind Kevin McCarthy's stance trying to sabotage the committee's work. Trump and his sycophants are NOT interested in getting the Truth out, they want to bury it.
