oh wow, I come here to learn from a muckup like you....Mr. Facts, ignorance to you maybe, the "system" doesnt, but the political zoo does, coz those poor men who are returning to that war get no brakes BECAUSE they die for their country over and over???....you make me sick, you go ok?.... tell them they need to keep doing back/back tours for suckups like you who dont do NOTHING for their country but backpack around the interstates until their mommys/daddys fish them outta the sewers....
Ironic that the number 1 state for homelessness is California? (not only is it the highest, but its 3 times higher then the next state, Florida, then NY) Isn't California the state of loving and compassion for those less fortunate? The state that helps those who need help? The state that has how many socialistic programs designed to stop people from being poor? USATODAY.com - Nation taking a new look at homelessness, solutions
But I guess its so much easier to point the blame at Bush for problems that existed well before he was president, then look at where the homeless actually exists and try to analize the problems.
p.s. we have 20 Federal agencies setup to fight homelessness. Maybe if the solution was on a state level where it belongs, then something might truly get done. I almost laugh at people who look to the federal government to cure problems created by the government, both federal and the state levels.
Last I checked, Bush was not president during Vietnam.
No, he was dodging the draft.
And yes, when I make assumptions or "feelings" I will label them as such. Sorry to hear about your uncle. Now, think of how many more people like are becoming like him right now.
All the presidents (since Nixon at least) and all of the officials WE elected share the blame as do ALL of us.
No one wanted to bite the bullet early enough to solve the problems we knew we'd face.
It's what society does without real leadership and individual responsibility combined.
The problem is simple, the foundation of the economy includes oil. Oil, for various reasons, costs more. No one is prepared for this change, and pointing fingers without looking in the mirror won't ever help.
We obviously need a phased set of solutions, starting with domestic drilling and biting a HUGE bullet in the form of subsidizing the risk of alternative energy research.
I'm not about saving the planet, she's been here a while. I'm about not giving money to people who wake up every day trying to figure out how to take away what we have.
Sure, we're much better off now than we were when LBJ was in office. But we have ignored the long-term energy independance. We need a lunar-landing sized effort, band-aides and all to get from here to where we need to be.
First you say that half of america is homeless, then this goes to that they are homeless because of the war, and now your claiming they died for this country.. Make up your mind because you cant be homeless, and dead at the same time..

Right.. but I guess thats because Bush runs California..
you like to say things the way you interpret them is your problem....not too many people in America think Bush is a hero to the homeless from the wars or to the homeless people who have lost their foundations they live in.... think its clear to you NOW what I mean.... because hes not helped either one that much and you obviously think he has...
Cali is the state of "loving and compassion"...seems its YOU who is dealing with all the feelings issues... GOT ANY FACTS FOR THOSE FIGURES, LOL...maybe Arnie flying up and down the Pacific coast ever morning shows their compassionate feelings about the gas crisis.... just another example of the conservative slant you wanna defend.... and yeah, for some homeless Id say dead is the same thing....

Actually the problem is because everyone wants to look to the federal government to solve problems that are regional. This happens with just about every issue we face.
Federal government should cure the homeless, those over extended on their mortgage, those who cant afford their medical bills, those that cant afford to eat, those that dont have a baysitter, heck I've seen someone get a new engine for their car on the taxpayers dime.
Not all problems we face can be fixed by the government. Many of those that can be fixed can easier be fixed on a regional level. How possibly can anyone in Washington come up with a solution that works for California, and have the same solution to the very same problem work in other states like Ohio? They cant. The economics are different, the people are different, the lifestyles and familes are even different.
Until people start to look locally for answers to problems that are local, problems like this will only get larger.

I think the economics of oil are pretty common to the whole country, so frankly I don't see where you're going with this. I mean, I agree in principle with what you're saying, but I don't see where it applies to the energy crisis.

Wow, talking about saying things how you interpret them.. Where the heck did I even claim that Bush is even close to a hero to the homeless or veterans? Oh, I didnt.. But neither was Clinton, or Bush Sr, or Reagan. Looking up to them as a "hero" is about as stupid as looking up to a baseball player as one.
Its not the Presidents job to solve every problem in this country, nor are they to blame. Just like you sat here and blamed Bush for the homeless problem in this country, there is not one shred of evidence that the homeless problem has gotten worse, but in fact the statistics show that homeless problem has decreased. In 2002 there were an estimated 842K homeless americans, in 2005, this was down to 727K.
Through all of this Bush, Bush, Bush is to blame blah blah blah posting, you have yet to post one single fact to back up your claim that Bush has increase homelessness in america.

well, not to go personal, but I figured you were all the proof I needed...get a job...
Hey, I'm not blaming the man...I'm just questioning his leadership as "President" and "Leader of the Free World".
So, is he also to blame for UK and other countries paying high gas prices too????
