I am not a fan of leftwing politics. I believe in limited government and American freedoms. However there is a chorus on here from MAGA's and others outside of CD that the left is so dangerous we will end up destroyed or a banana republic or full blown socialist if the left has their way.
However the left is in power in Europe. Scandinavia is very left wing. Canada is also. Yet they are not destroyed. I don't want us to be like them. With socialized health care, high taxes and less freedoms. But if the left did win here we would be more likely like Scandinavia not Venezuela. Norway or Canada has not dismantled capitalism and implemented Socialism. Why would it be any different here?
Does anyone on here really believe the rhetoric of someone like Mark Levin?

I disagree we would not be like European socialist countries. We do something they dont do in very large numbers. And that is we have a virtual open border and allow millions of uneducated, needy people across our borders. It is a lot easier to have strong social welfare systems when you have a population that shares the same culture/language and work ethic. The wall is fine. But what is needed is zero tolerance for illegals. Impossible to get a job or rent or buy anything. It would take the fun out of sneaking in here.
Europe and Canada no longer have free speech. Suppose you are stupid and don't believe in the holocaust, you can be locked up for your opinion. It is starting to get that way here. They have had their gun rights seriously hindered. The UK has even limited the right to own a knife.
They both have never experienced the Freedoms and Rights we have here in the US.
They are going full blown Socialist and are about 3 steps ahead of the US. The US has enough people like Libertarians and Republicans that want small Govt.
The world changed when trump became President. He showed us how corrupt the Govts and the Press are. One of the reasons even Corrupt Republicans don't like Trump.
We are the frog and they are the hot water. We better keep fighting to stay out of the pot.
