How can you say we have "a virtual open border" when a couple weeks ago, "Border Patrol reports 2.4 million migrant arrests at southwest border this year, the most ever." The most ever!!!!
I am not a fan of leftwing politics. I believe in limited government and American freedoms. However there is a chorus on here from MAGA's and others outside of CD that the left is so dangerous we will end up destroyed or a banana republic or full blown socialist if the left has their way.
However the left is in power in Europe. Scandinavia is very left wing. Canada is also. Yet they are not destroyed. I don't want us to be like them. With socialized health care, high taxes and less freedoms. But if the left did win here we would be more likely like Scandinavia not Venezuela. Norway or Canada has not dismantled capitalism and implemented Socialism. Why would it be any different here?
Does anyone on here really believe the rhetoric of someone like Mark Levin?

Europe has been kneecapped by their socialism, not the first to aid people in need around the world, not the first to supply any meaningful military support, even in their own backyard. Euros are sheep! Let Sam do it, they say.
Canada is ruined, people in need to to US for healthcare. Canada is under authoritarian rule, bank accounts closed if you dissent with the government, no pistols, semi auto rifles. CN$ not worth much.
We have been overrun by masses from around the world. Terrorists and drugs and gangs. The foundation of our economy was destroyed by Biden and felt around the world. Violence in our cities dwarfs war zones. The pattern of destabilization is crystal clear. Every democrat created issue is an existential crisis and only government control will save you. inflation, energy and gas prices crushing family finances. biden is our enemy and belongs on lists with putin, Xi, kim, mullahs in iran and the drug cartels.
The Left Wing of the USA is more like the Venezuelan Socialists than Canada or Europe Leftists....I think we would look just like Venezuela or Cuba if the Leftists gained full control here.

Yup, I remember some Dutch posters on CD laughing over people claiming Obama was left-wing. They said "you don't HAVE a left-wing party. You have a right-wing party and a far-right-wing party."

There are elements of Wokeism that would threaten society (alloting jobs based on victim status rather than merit) but those ideas are still on fringe of mainstream Democrat policies. Both the USA and other Most Developed Nations have good outcomes. I think the USA would be even better to adopt some of their policies (healthcare for all, responsible gun ownership, decriminalization of drugs, etc) but it's exaggerated to say the USA = low taxes and freedom and Canada or Sweden aren't capitalist. Since only North Korea and Cuba have true Communist economies I don't think ever Western hater of "Capitalism" understand what that means. Europe is capitalism with more regulations and stronger safety nets. The USA still has a fairly high tax rate and robust spending on safety nets, too.
What is your definition of destroyed? Minneapolis was a clean, safe city 10 years ago. Then liberals (not just Democrats but true circus clown weirdos) took over. It’s destroyed.
