You dont care about your family?
If someone breaks in to my house I shot first ask latter...
I was thinking that too. I completely understand if someone doesn't want to own a gun, but to be completely passive to the point of not defending your life or loved ones by any physical method is unnerving.

I would hope so!

On another forum site (one that I've been a member of for years), a similar discussion came up about defending one's own life. There were several members that, in all seriousness, were adamant about not using violence to defend their own life, even if they knew they were about to die. Their rationale was that they weren't violent people and didn't believe in demonstrating violence under any circumstance. They felt it was not right under any circumstance to take another person's life, even if it meant that they would die.

It was a real "Um. Wow." moment for the lot of us!

DITTO. I can't believe anyone would choose "I wouldn't resort to violence to protect my family". WHAT???? I guess your wife has respect for you. WOW. Do you count to three when your kids act up too and do nothing when you get to three.

Good for you guys. My wife wants to get a few more guns. I don't want to have to wait for help.

Living in a safe place, with practically zero crime... that's the best way, right?

Anyway, if I had to defend myself... I don't know, I'd take what I could to defend myself or family.

Maybe on TV, but in a real life a shotgun requires practice and aim just like any other firearm.
