The people passed it, get over it! You can't marry, it's a good thing it passed. Marriage is only supposed to be between a man and a woman, it even says so in the Bible! Now that this has passed, kids won't be forced to learn about homosexual relationships, which is something little kids don't need to know about and most people are still trying to keep marriage in the traditional way, which is goo.
Its not over until the Fat Lady sings, the fat lady being the judiciary. If you don't get why they are upset then you don't get anything at all.
Yeah, right along with slaves being 3/5ths of a person (I think).
If you want to be homophobic and deny gays their right to marry, fine. But if you want to do it and not being pointed and laughed at (especially with your rather creative spelling and grammar), then I suggest you pick a reason that doesn't have to do with your dear and fluffy Lord.
hahaha another ignorant noob with 22 posts as so they think they are free to make any blatant generalization they want?
for instance, because I say that america isnt and wasnt meant to be secular, I am automatically a christian? or because I think we should compromise and use some form of civil union that guraentees equal rights to a real marriage??
i dont think I have ever stated once in this thread, or in any other thread relating to homosexuals that they are terrible and bad! ive never even used to word immoral or attempted to sue a religious explanation..
seriously Dora, your the one getting laughed at. you tried to insult me and it didnt work, cause your fact are all wrong...
Yup America is a paradox, the most liberal president gets elected and 8 gets shot down in the most liberal state in the union. As for 8, the problem is in the wording, which is very misleading ... gays want to get married yet at the same time refute that "marriage as sacred" is a violation of seperation of church vs. state. The solution is pretty simple gays should not be fighting for gay marriage, but rather for seperation of church and state, rather called civil unions. Heteros can still keep marriage sacred in their respective church and gays and heteros will have the same protections from their state. End of arguement.

Just want to make sure I understand you: You're arguing for civil unions issued by the state for everybody, right? If so, then yes, I agree with that position.
anyone wanna know the perfect example of a difference in beliefs about what is and isnt a "rights??"
America has gun rights. the "right to bear arms". no where in the world is there another country whi boasts that, or even has that I believe?? SO much of the world would disagree with that right.. Certainly not china, Europe or canada.
some people disagree with that right as strongly as you believe in "gay marriage" being a right? so how is your opinion better then a democratic process??
Some would do this if they could get away with it, but it's discrimination to try to take our marriage and what it stands for and turn it into something different.
You have been indoctrinated with fear, along with every other parent out there that's buying into this. Fact of the matter is, ANY topic or discussion in the schools related to sex or morality Parents ALWAYS have the opt out ability. There is nothing that can be "crammed" down your kid's throats in relation to sex and morals. As a teacher, and someone who is gay and does care about the wellbeing of kids. I think that if you parents out there breeding and having these kids were actually fullfilling your roles as parents and taking ownership of instilling the values you want into your kids, then the school system wouldn't have this burden in educating youth about topics related to sex. If you are one of those parents that do... whether I agree with you or not.. doesn't matter... I commend you. But too many of you do not! and then you want to sit here and trash on the school system and pull every liberal group you can into the matter in attacking it. The world is a liberal place.. and the schools cannot tell people what's right and wrong.. they can just give facts. that's your job as a parent.
As for the marriage b.s. your marriage is yours.. it will always be yours.. I don't want yours.. and I hope you don't want mine...this notion that some group of people is stealing your marriage is childish and ridiculous.
Before you spread more fear to the sheep out there, understand that your fear is not truth... it is an emotion, and emotion cannot rule the day when it comes to making laws in restricting people from basic civil rights

The bible allows polygamy and incest too, wanna legalize that because the bible says so?
