So because the bible says it we are supposed to stay in loveless or abusive relationship?

Exactly.

Should we let something that was written 2000 yr ago when they didnt have cars, planes, microwaves, tvs dictate what a modern country does? Should we have something that was written by people we really know nothing about dictate our lives? What do you really know about the writers? What do they know about our lives? Nothing. Besides, there are a majority of people who dont believe in what is writen there. Some may be truth but you have to wade through it.

Sorry, I dont want our laws to be based on something that could of been the equivalent of People magazine of the time. We are in the here and now. We need to have our laws reflect our times and ALL the people of our country. Keep your religous beliefs to yourself. Keep the church and state seperate. That is how its supposed to be.

seriously Dora, your the one getting laughed at. you tried to insult me and it didnt work, cause your fact are all wrong...
Actually, YOU'RE (notice the spelling and punctuation) the one being laughed at. Who would ever claim that this is a Christian nation and established that way unless they are Christian themselves? Not only that, but Dora's reputation and your reputation show that Dora is far more respected on these boards, no matter how much of a "noob" they are. While you only get one rep point for every 4 posts, they get 3 rep points for every 4 posts.

How will they work homosexuality in with evolution? Talk about a conflict of interest.

Just because homosexuality is an evolutionary dead end doesn't mean it shouldn't exist and there wasn't a genetic mutation that caused it. Evolution is not always good, somethings evolve something that hinders the development of the species and homosexuality could be considered one of those types. People who believe in evolution don't necessarily believe that those dead ends need to be eliminated or anything, so it's not really a conflict of interest.

Nope, you're the one who is wrong... regardless of how many Christians are in this country (not as many as you think, FYI), that does not make it a "Christian Nation." To say so goes against the very principle of this country, and what the Founding Fathers based this nation on when it was founded.

My question is why is everyone protesting so vehemently? Whether you agree with the law or not, there is no indication that there was any voter disenfranchisement or any irregularities, it appears to have passed fair and square. It is now an issue for the CA courts. It's not over, it's only changing venues. The battle is nowhere near over.

The protestors are their own worst enemies now. The (violent) protesting seems to be alienating and cementing the opposition, and likely many who could otherwise become sympathetic to gay rights.

If you want to fight it, do it throught the proper channels. Above all, do not try to influence the courts by protesting, that is the worst thing that could happen.

I just posted a response to the OP, and then read the rest of the thread. Wow! Why is everyone still trying to convince the other side to retroactively change their stance?
The vote is done, but it doesn't mean the issue is settled for either side, not by a long shot. There are plenty of other ways to continue this battle, but I don't think a revote is a likely one.

some people disagree with that right as strongly as you believe in "gay marriage" being a right? so how is your opinion better then a democratic process??
Actually, I disagree w/the right to bear arms. You have noticed our crime rates compared to other countries, right?

You don't have a choice in natural selection.

Good point, OP. And why did the blacks go on and on about that whole slavery thing? It's obviously what the people wanted.
