Another good thing would also be to ban all imported cars. That way the US auto industry can do whatever they want, including deciding the fuel efficiency (or inefficiency, if they so choose).

not the 2008 honda accord - even with the smallest available engine and 5 speed, it only gets 31 mpg.
ditto for the camry.
the altima gets 32 mpg, so it's out as well. and the CR-V isn't even close at 27 mpg.

i guess you're stuck with the civic and the corolla, the only tiny tin cans you managed to list

Even if you don't happen to like the decisions a few of them (like, say, SUV drivers) choose to make.

Freedom does not include the right to drive a monster SUV or a Hummer. Freedom is good but it must be tempered by regulation for the good of everybody.
