There is no need.

That gives a pretty clear idea about trickle down and why 3 presidents after Reagan indulged in that also. Different ideas of the levels it should be @ as far as taxation but if you're ever interested you can see Reagan wasn't the ideological right wing nut many make him out to be. For example Christina Romer (Obama's CEA leader) wrote about different taxation practices throughout our recent history. Reagan clearly knew he went to far with cutting taxes and while he knew he had to raise taxes back from the low low end that he had done he also cut spending tremendously. I thought all citizens wanted a balanced budget am I wrong? Did it get balanced? No. There was also an obligation President Reagan felt very strong about:

The term was also popularized by Ronald Reagan.

Lenin also used it:

They are voting with their feet,” said Lenin mockingly to those who wanted him to continue the war, a revolutionary war this time. “They are simply leaving...” (From my link)

I had never heard of that quote thanks. Obviously I don't agree with Stalin but the saying still makes sense in almost any sense. Trying to make Reagan or Friedman out to be some kinda evil that was remotely close to Stalin is ridiculous so I'm sure you're not trying that. In reference to the Friedman comment it was pointing out how all the surrounding states an exodus happens and is the reason why the previous countries have the highest population density.

I wasn't trying to equate Reagan with Lenin. I was just saying, people used it long before Reagan, Milton Friedman et al.

I don't think I'm going to read a 95 pg. paper right now. But it doesn't matter what was going on in the rest of the country, the steel industry crashed in 1982.

Reagan's presidency was in the 80's. That should cut down your reading to about 5 minutes. The PBS documentary should clearly redefine your ideological stance. I don't suppose you think Reagan was suppose to fix high unemployment, high inflation, high energy prices, disappearing mfg base, cut taxes, topple the Soviet Union, instill pride back in America and deliver babies all at the same time do you?

I think he was supposed to help the people of Pittsburgh when the steel industry collapsed, and not be so cavalier as to tell them to "vote with their feet".

Reagan also put California back in the "black" again, if I remember correctly. He was a very popular governor. California began going down the tubes again after Reagan.
