Exactly what is the "America we know"?
You know, the America where blacks and women "knew their place".

Jones started his career as a staunch critic of capitalism; his outrage over the Rodney King verdict radicalized him to the point where he declared himself a communist (he has since renounced these views) and actively began protesting police brutality.[17] He later got involved with Standing Together to Organize a Revolutionary Movement (STORM), a collective which "dreamed of a multiracial socialist utopia". According to former employer Eva Patterson, Jones later "jettisoned his youthful notions and moved on to seek more effective and attainable solutions."[18] Frustrated keeping coalitions together to make positive social change, Jones "discarded the hostility and antagonism with which he had previously greeted the world, which he said was part of the ego-driven romance of being seen as a revolutionary." "Before, we would fight anybody, any time," Jones says of his transformation. "No concession was good enough; we never said 'Thank you.' Now, I put the issues and constituencies first. I'll work with anybody, I'll fight anybody if it will push our issues forward. ... I'm willing to forgo the cheap satisfaction of the radical pose for the deep satisfaction of radical ends".[17] Jones ended his involvement with STORM (and STORM officially dissolved in December 2002).[19]

By the late 1990s, Jones began promoting capitalism as he transformed into an environmentally friendly capitalist. He emerged as one of the foremost champions of green business, entrepreneurship and market-based solutions.
Can you guess why Glenn is talking about Van Jones these days, roy?
I won't look to see when that version of Van Jones was added to Wiki but I bet it is very recent and got there after his appointment as Green czar.

Of course, he left STORM in 2002 when it disbanded. Why did they disband and where did he go after that. If you look closely there are all kinds of organizations like that that have changed names as soon as the old one got too unpopular. Nicer sounding names with the same people.

I have to hustle off and get that link that I forgot to post. I knew it wouldn't be real popular here.

So, back to the OP question. Can the Dems entertain us a little and try to defend your leaders decision to even think about adding this guy to the "administration"?

I mean without attacking the source.

He is not a convicted criminal, he was arrested during a protest and released with no charges filed.

Did Beck call him a convicted criminal?
