If it wasn't for Librarians who coordinated most info - no one would be able to surf the web like they do today.
I salute Librarians everywhere Not to mention, I think they are underpaid
gotta spread the rep around, but I do thank you very large! it's nice that some people understand. Librarians, unlike most people in grad school, know that they aren't going there for a big paycheck ...
The problem with most public services I have found is that since they are free at the point of use they get overloaded and people who then proceed to complain about the fact that the services they are getting at no direct charge are not sufficient because everyone and their mother wants free services.
Of course if you look at what happens when public services shut down then people tend to really miss them. The fact of the matter is that in order to have third world tax rates you have to do something to keep the system going otherwise you will get third world public services.
Budget Cuts Could Leave City In Dark | AHN (http://www.allheadlinenews.com/articles/7017681397?Budget%20Cuts%20Could%20Leave%20City%20 In%20Dark - broken link)
I don't know why I missed that part...I probably was getting ready to go to bed and was already in disbelieve on what the president said during the State of the Union...
He wants to forgive a student loan if the student takes a job in the public office..
Public office jobs don't make any profits for the community and only cost money. In Europe the most jokes are about employees in public office since most of the employees (Europe) start the day with coffee and talking and doing nothing( discussing the games they watched over the weekend, etc.). After a couple of hours of doing nothing they go to lunch and can't wait till it is 5 pm to go home and hardly anything is done...sorry I'm not saying it all is true but many have experienced the long lines of waiting in city halls, the bureaucracy and weeks of waiting due to the slow process.
There won't be enough jobs to forgive all the student loans so more of these jobs will be created and taxes will go up just to afford the forgiving of the loans...since who doesn't want to go to Colllege, party a lot and then in the end don't have to pay for it...nice for free.
ANOTHER EXAMPLE OF SPREADING THE WEALTH AND GIVING OTHER PEOPLES MONEY AWAY...AND WASTE!

Thats the point....Public jobs dont create crap but DEBT!!!!!
Thats the point....Public jobs dont create crap but DEBT!!!!!
Your right. Just look at the DMV. Every time I go over there they are talking about what to eat for lunch and what to do in the weekend....
The same is happening for years in Europe...only their State government and local government buildings are way nicer since the tax payers money is used to give these employees the nicest place to drink their coffee and chat most of the day with each other...
One poster wrote that a person with an expensive University/College education won't go into public service while their education is very expensive and it doesn't mean their family can afford it easier than other families do....so again this is helping people with the easiest College education that are worth not much, because others won't be solliciting for these kind of jobs...
Health, and education, to me are the "sacred cows" that should never, EVER, be treated as money-making enterprises.
When healthcare and higher education start to become priced out of the reach of a nations citizens, the only direction for that nations development is down...
How does one keep the cost of higher education down? Facilities, utilities, maintenance, teaching staff, equipment, etc. all cost money.
There sure are a ton of Sallie Mae, and other private student loan lenders on here spreading propoganda and lies. If you read up on what the Bush administration did to the loan industry you may be able to understand the student loan crisis the US in the midst of. You can start here:
You obviously haven't graduated yet. Go back to class
Since you know me sooo well, how did you know that I did not graduate? I still have a couple of semesters until I get my Masters in Healthcare Administration. I guess that we will graduate at the same time, I will get my Masters and you will proably finish high school
Please don't confuse polititics with intelligence they sometimes do not go hand in hand
The loans will be forgiven after 10 years (no matter the balance) if you go into public service and after 20(no matter the balance) if you going into the to public sector..
Who pays for the BALANCE?? Yes,the tax payer.
Hmmm, let me see if you have been paying on your loans for over ten years would'nt at that point you are now just paying interest? The principle should have been paid off by then. So in a sense all that he is purposing is limiting the interst paid on a loan that was too high in the first place
You obviously haven't graduated yet. Go back to class
obviously you are not as quick as you think you are!
