I'm interested in the facts of the case, that said.
What REALLY happened? He was clearly a guy with quite an arrest history, but exactly what happened TODAY?
"The guy has 6 arrests and is armed, being chased for a warrant by a cop, what does he expect? Sorry, but no sympathy. One less criminal off the streets."
That looks like a lot of facts to me. He was a dangerous person who did not heed the law. I am so tired of people looking for reasons to find fault with police officers risking their lives to protect ungrateful people.

Actually, at this point that's 2 facts (arrest record, being chased for warrants) and 1 bit of speculation (him being armed). It's also an assumption that if he was armed that he threatened the officer with his weapon.
It's not about looking for reasons to fault the police. It's looking for facts, which we don't have all of yet.
unfortunately RPD doesn't have body cameras.....the investigation will have to show whether or not the deceased persons civil rights were violated or not, regardless of his past behavior.
Raleigh's Police chief said there was a gun 'found next to the body'. One of his 26 charges was for carrying a concealed handgun.
Yes, just saw the updated news. A gun was found next to him, and he was a verified gang member.
I'm not sure why this is so hard to understand by many people in the country. If you don't want to get shot by the police, then follow the rules and try to better your life somehow. There is plenty of help in this town. Maybe not in other places in the country, but plenty of help in Raleigh
It doesn't matter how long his rap sheet was or what his record is. Simply running away from the police has never been and should never be an act that gets you killed in this country. It should add at least an extra charge (or a more) once you're caught, but just running away doesn't mean you get shot and killed.

Well, I also think that they'll take eyewitness testimony and the testimony of the officer and his partner into account as well.

I would suggest taking eyewitness testimony with a grain of salt. To put it mildly. The vast majority would never side with the police under any circumstance.
Hopefully the autopsy will shed some light on what really happened.
