For one shot, sure. But seven shots is shooting to kill.
first of all, there are too many "what if's" and we have not and may not ever know all the facts.
"assuming" the officer fired his weapon because he felt his life was in danger, then why wouldn't he shoot to kill? this isn't the movies people. you don't shoot once to see if the person puts his weapon down and complies. this isn't laser tag or paintball. This is real life. Sorry but there is 1% of the population that most people never come in contact with and have no idea what goes on. I would not judge why until all the facts are in.

Facts?
Come now... we have conjecture and that's always more fun.
(Kidding)
I agree with you. Facts are our friends.

Please look at the context of the comments you quoted. I was responding to someone that said it's hard to target an arm or leg when chasing a fleeing suspect. You can read EVERY one of my other comments on this topic and I've said get the facts first. I was responding to a very specific comment.
Sad for anyone to lose a child and sad that a cop was put in that situation if he was
defending himself from an armed suspect...
But one thing that I think needs to be addressed in these situations is how the media
repeats any rumor that they hear early on in the situation...
From what I understand someone who did NOT see the actual shooting told the mom that
the cop chased the unarmed man and shot him in the back 7 times for no reason...
Then mom tells the reporter that & the irresponsible media repeats it as fact...
That could easily create a riot and harm to others when it was a rumor all along...
Enjoyed the bloopers !!!
The emergency defecation situation was hysterical...
That poor reporter "he was sucked right out of the plane" "today may be the day I lose my job" LOL
