Durham County just mandated masks in stores and all public areas you might be in contact with people. Is Wake County next? That'll really **** off the person on my NextDoor who said she actually lives in Wake County and can escape the tyranny of Durham County.

A Subway on Wake Forest Road put up an incredible amount of plastic to protect workers. But a week later it closed. Maybe not enough business perhaps? It was usually empty when I went there. Too bad because it was the healthiest lunch option in the neighborhood.

Any idea how many places are closing permanently now? I see Trali in Morrisville is done, they were doing curbside pickup, etc, but have been moving everything out of the restaurant and website only shows Raleigh location.

I don't get out much.. so no idea how many places are actually closing permantently... but worried it is many.

Yeah Trali in Morrisville is closing for good. I'm guessing they were skirting by at that location and Covid put the final nail in the coffin with rent with the landlord. Shame and I doubt it's the only business that'll be hitting lights out.

Same as Subway on Wake Forest. Maybe true for many businesses. But like Trali temporary becomes permanent.

After the pandemic is finally done, which may take a year or more, there will eventually be new businesses that start.

It's inevitable.

Several of the shops around me have changed, some several times, in the 14 yrs I've lived in my current domicile. New ones start, others close, some change ownership.

Change is the only constant.

So the mask thing is really irritating me. I understand how an actual mask can help with stopping the virus spread. But people can’t buy masks anywhere, at least not that don’t have a gouged price, prob Chinese fake junk and a ship date a month out. Wearing a scarf or hanky on my face is not comfortable, fogs my glasses. Scarves and hankies do not stop virus from going in according to CDC so how would they stop virus from going out?

If a government wants to mandate that I wear a mask then said government should make masks available. I will pay for masks, just not doing so with scammers on Amazon. South Korea provides masks weekly to all citizens. They pick them up at pharmacies.

So can anyone explain how a scarf or hanky on my face is beneficial to my health?
