In terms of fully moving out of the home, that didn't take place really until after college when I was 22, but I rented until I bought. Even though my college was hours away from home and I lived in the dorms, I'd still spend some summers at home, so I don't count myself as fully moving moving out until post college, when I left for law school and was pretty much gone for good at that point.
Well, I moved out of my parent's house at the age of 22 and got an apartment. Over the years, there were a couple of times when I lived with parents for 3-7 months between jobs.
I bought my first house at the age of 35, just last year.
