Well, we were on a family vacation at the beach, years ago, and the walls were very thin. One late night, after closing the patio doors, shutting out the sound of the surf, we heard it. We heard it all. The squeaking of the mattress, the...sounds...of carnal pleasure. Our mother... our father...
I tried to cover my then-virgin ears (and my brother's) but the sounds persisted, becoming stuck in our minds. Haunting us. Taunting us.
I can still hear it at night, sometimes, when the air is still...
