Yes, but what he did tops what Bill Gates did. Not everyone has, needs, or wants a computer. EVERYONE needs a car pretty much. One that can be mass produced and meets quality standards. FWIW...many folks over 75 have never used a computer or know how one works. They ALL still drive a car though!

Bill gates is still going, so can't be spoken of in the past tense.
These are some weird definitions of nerdy/dorky/geeky.
I have a very nerdy job (marketing analytics consultant). I am an obsessive researcher/learner about any topic I am interested in. At the moment I am focused on food, cooking, sustainable and organic food, building a local (metro) economy, clean eating and transit.
I've been hardcore about topics ranging from basketball, the economics of sports, gender roles in sports, acid jazz, funk, british r&b, gadgets, and building a successful business are off the top of my head topics.
And I am also very outgoing and social. My nicknames are social butterfly and walking yelp. Being nerdy doesn't mean you have no people skills.
My definition of nerd/geek: is having a deep knowledge about a topic, and obsessively participating in/researching/being informed about/or flat out caring about this topic. (And of course sharing this deep knowledge with everyone.) Most people are nerds about something.
Dorks: generally people focused on their studies and more socially awkward, since they haven't managed to translate their interest into something someone else would be interested in. Either someone like-minded or a general audience.
Nah, nerds don't know how to drive 6 speed manuals!
I think you are confusing nerd with dork. Nerds know all. Its what makes them nerds.
