Dont hate valentines day. I just find it fake and materialistic. Others can celebrate it all they want, I will have class and work and be up for 18 hours, so I will be going about my business as usual.
I have a Valentine's Day curse. I have been broken up with twice just a week before Valentine's Day (probably for the better). I have NEVER been on a single Valentine's Day date before.
The ONLY time I ever had a girlfriend on Valentine's was when I was in college. I made reservations for dinner that night and then a school shooting happened where my close friend was shot twice and another died. Needless to say plans were cancelled.
Now the day has become more about mourning than anything. Its just an awful day for me.
I actually used to hate it almost every single year, 'cause what can be worse than being single on Valentine's day?!...but I've found a solution for this year.
I decided to let go and to stop hating on it so much.
So happy couples could have their fun celebrating Valentines day...and us bitter single people can STOP being bitter and celebrate ANTI-Valentine's day.
So I bought Chocolate, wrapped it nicely and wrote "Happy Anti-Valentine's day!!Single&Happy" and I'm gonna bring it to work to all my other bitter single friends. And then we're all going to the movies
I mean, isn't it bad enough being single? why do we have to be reminded of it? And why not celebrate it instead?
Of course in my head it still sounds like a lie..."single&happy"? who? me? really? I hate being single!
But I figured it's better than my first plan...which was to call in sick so and not get out of the house so I won't have to want to kill myself when I see all the happy couples outside.
But, oh well...we can't cancel Valentine's...might as well turn it into "anti-valentine's" and try to enjoy it.

sounds like a good plan...although my version of that would involve more alcohol.
I don't really hate Valentines Day. I think it's completely commercial and kind of stupid... but I still think it would be nice to be taken out for a nice dinner on V Day. A rose wouldn't hurt either
Somehow I don't think I'll be receiving anything this year, though.
The worst part about Valentines Day? Everyone's ****ing facebook posts. Either everyone is posting pictures of their obnoxious bouquets and teddy bears and whatnot or whining about how much they hate Valentines.
I say just do it the day after as you'll get them at a discount especially the candy.
