A drone is synonymous with the lowest social order. Being a man is a gamble where one may end up at the top of a society or at the very bottom. I see plenty of men no woman would have.
Just because they are unattractive to you doesn't mean they are not attractive to someone else. Or they may have qualities that are unseen by you that are seen by others.
This is what I mean when I talk of beliefs. If your experiences lead you to ingrain thoughts like these, you are truly in for a long, lonley life

so what then is the standard, other than what society says?

Hi mongoslade223,
I am happily married and had no trouble attracting women when I was single.
Yet being somewhat bookish, I tended to often socialize with men most women don't want. I saw it for myself. I remember being asked what it was like having a girl friend. There is just not enough of a supply of women who will go out and get a shy geek. He would need to be very attractive. As it is shy, unattractive geeks live alone. I work with a 40 year old one now.

Hi samston,
Women like the dominant male in what ever niche seems to turn them on and then move down from there. Some niches are better than others. Only a few computer geek groupies exist so being in the bottom half of that spells trouble. A mediocre doctor will still have a good supply.
The standard seems to be what ever women are currently chasing as far as the dating market is concerned. What I can see is they like socially confident men who excel at what they do especially when they have a reasonable appearance.
A computer geek groupie could be successful in the IT field. A socially confident male could be white trash. In my mind, success is key, in whatever field. To me white trash/ghetto people are at the bottom of the dating totem pole, since they are headed nowhere in life.

This pool has members of both genders, so I'm pretty sure they don't care what we think about them. They're probably happier, too. You're free when you've nothing to lose.

"Freedom's just another word for nothing left to lose."

well, if one can be happy being white trash, i guess everything is relative.
Yeah. Most of us are slaves to our creature comforts.
The less one thinks, the happier he/she is, samston! Cliches are annoying, but ignorance IS a bliss. It really is!
I think, it does not affect me negatively. Happiness is subjective.
I just don't see how one can be happy living in a trailer, or having children and scrounging for welfare off the government, but such is life.
