Well considering he doesn't not the apostle, it could have easily been his brother james .
We are all brothers and sisters in Christ, he refers to this many times as his brothers and sisters, kin, etc.The terms brothers and sister did not refer only to close relatives, sometimes they meant kinsmen. etc.
"In being born of a Virgin WHO CHOSE TO REMAIN a Virgin EVEN BEFORE SHE KNEW who was to be born of her, Christ wanted to approve virginity rather than to impose it. And He wanted virginity to be of FREE CHOICE even in that woman in whom He took upon Himself the form of a slave."

when old josphephus referred to james as the brother of jesus i don't think that is what he meant. Hell even paul calls james his brother.

It does not take knowledge to interpret and understand the Bible, It does take much wisdom and lots of study.
we are all brothers and sisters of Christ. Paul was his brother yes as all of Jesus friends were called brother and sister also.
Jesus was the only child to the Blessed Mother of God. He was sent by the Holy Spirit. This was no ordinary conception but a miracle and Christ is her only child.

no because he refers to the apostle and james the brother of jesus. Why would he refer to one specific person as his brother and not the others? The fact is it's pretty much impossible to logically believe that joesph and mary had no kids after jesus.
If the virgin birth story were true and The BIG Guy was Jesus' daddy, then any children born of Joseph and Mary would be Jesus' half siblings. Right?
Hi Dan, "Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the younger and of Joses, and Salome,... and also many other women." [Mark 15:40; RSV] The same name variation is observed in both lists: Matthew refers to "Joseph"; whereas, Mark refers to "Joses". This variation supports their connection to the names of Jesus' brothers. According to both texts, James and Joseph (or Joses) are the sons of Mary. But this Mary is not referred to as the mother of Jesus. This would be an odd omission, if she were also the mother of Jesus. John's Gospel has a similar list of women: "...standing by the Cross of Jesus were His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene." [John 19:25; RSV] According to John, Mary the mother of Jesus was present at the Cross, but John also records another Mary other than Mary Magdalene.
James the younger and Joseph (or Joses) were the sons of the other Mary.
Elsewhere, Matthew actually calls her "the other Mary." [Matt. 28:1] This other Mary is said to be the "sister" of Jesus' mother. Therefore, James and Joseph (or Joses) are Jesus' cousins and not His siblings.
