Here you go, plenty of jobs and you might even find the work more interesting than motel night clerk:

OK, so you are getting callbacks, that's a good sign.

Tell us a little about how the interviews seem to go. What types of questions are the interviewers asking you? Do you send a written thank you note to the interviewer after the interview? And, have the interviewers followed up with your references from previous jobs?

2sleepy also has a good suggestion about broadening your job hunt beyond hospitality jobs.

I have broadened my search well beyond hospitality, and it's basically the run of the mill type of questions (i.e., tell me about yourself, etc.), which I always seem to respond well to. I have however, gone on some of oldtrader's advice and actually asked the people at the end of the interview if they tend to favor bilingual candidates for hires, to which all of them seem to surprisingly say no, yet I'm still not convinced that Sacramento isn't hostile to whites (particularly white males) in terms of employment, and that Roseville and Rocklin (which are largely unaccessible to me thanks to the fact I don't have a car and must rely on buses and light rail) are essentially manufactured towns for white Sacramentans who were pushed out of their home city by diversity policies and/or can't or don't want to work in the Bay. (And if it helps, I have two friends, both white and male, who are going through similar problems and have an (albeit smaller) similar position to me)
