If that is meant to be a reply to me, maybe you lost something in the context. I wasn't impressed with In-N-Out, just thought maybe some of the hype about the franchise coming to Texas is because the many Cali transplants are excited something from their former state is now here in Texas.

Slightly off-topic but I went to Jack yesterday for the first time in years and couldn't eat the bread. It had an unnatural smell. I don't even want to know what they put in it.

I think the big thing that us Texans must realize is that we have both chains in our state, meaning we have a choice. Californians don't. If they want whataburger they are SOL.

Right.

Texas is hard to beat when it comes to food choices. We have such a wide range of American and ethnic restaurants, chains and independently owned, even in smaller metro areas.

I live between Tyler and Longview, and the wide variety of restaurants serving EXCELLENT food is amazing. Everything from pho to French Mediterranean to fabulous Jucy's hamburgers (as well as Five Guys - another favorite of mine) is within just a few minutes' drive.

LOL I don't think Californians are missing Whataburger. To each their own, but I'm sure CA has far more choice overall. The BBQ is much better in TX for sure though.
