Well, to be fair, I didn't even say anything about Whataburger OR California so your post seems sort of random when it comes to addressing anything I said. Personally, I don't much care for either Whataburger OR California, if you want to know the truth.

I wasn't even comparing Texas to California. What my point is, is this - Even in East Texas, where there are no large cities, we have amazing ethnic food choices - including some GREAT burger choices that are independently owned (Jucy's) as well as national chains (Five Guys and Smashburger).

Since the vote wasn't conducted using a random sample, then I put little stock in it. It was more like "come to our website and vote." It wasn't even a taste test. Cult followers of restaurants who even know about the website would be the most likely to vote. I tried In-N-Out a few weeks ago. It was a little more edible than Whataburger, but not something I will go back for. I'll stick to Five Guys when I want a fast food burger.

As far as I'm concerned, there's the burgers you make at home and then there's everything else.

Mooyah and Five Guys are just overpriced yuppie burgers. In N Out are crappy little burgers that people flocked to when the places first opened in Texas since they are so popular in California. But the two restaurants in our area are usually pretty empty now. Whataburgers are good old fashioned burgers; the kind that many of us grew up on. The survey rings true for me.
