Well, to be frank, that's the main reason they were initially successful.

I remember back in the early 00s we'd stop at the one in Luling on the way to camping in central Texas. Back then it had more of a cult following because it wasn't nearly as known. It's very mainstream now at least in Texas. The only Bucees memorabilia I have is a quick release collar I bought for my GSD. If we're on trips in random states and at a dog park/hiking and someone sees the collar they always ask if we're from Texas. I think it's cool for Texas to have a recognizable brand like this.

I wonder what Bucees end game is. Are they trying to be the upscale QT and expand all over the southern US? I can really see them doing well in the interior Western US.

Buccee's is not really a truck stop. They definitely don't cater to large trucks. Tourists and auto traffic is their clientele targets.

Real truck stops have areas for truckers to shower, big rig parking, food catering to truckers (this is arguable) and also parking lots full of urine bombs (2L bottles full of pizz) and also lot lizards.

I'm just still upset that there's no Buccee's in East Texas. What the hell man. I mean can't we get one in between Houston and Longview somwhere?

I'm guessing you're meaning outside of the Houston area because there's quite a few of them in the Greater Houston area. But yeah heading north along IH-69/U.S. 59 toward I-20 there are none.

Houston =/= East Texas

Of course there’s a lot in Houston area. That’s where they started and is their home market. But for people coming in from East Texas, they’re lacking the one direction where Houston isn’t covered by Buc Ee’s (N/NE)
