I alwasy only thionk of houston and dallas as major cities. Certainly no other city even has a international airport. The things I those two make any other cities seem rather eregional really.It would be like saying a small city with a lareg miltary base is a major city as far as san antonio is concerned.

S.A and Austin have international Airports. Last I check flights to Mexico are considered int'l. I read that both cities will have service to Canadian cities soon.

San Antonio flies to Mexico. Also, San Antonio is larger than Dallas and is the 7th largest city in America. I really don't think San Antonio would be classified as a "small city". It has two major military bases.

The only thing stated was that they are about the same size in metro population and Austin is growing fast. Both statements are TRUE.

Yet, Austin's airport is busier and has a more variety of flights to more places than San Antonio does.

Midland has an international airport, even though it is not even close to the size of Houston, Dallas, etc.
Bashing of Midland aside.....it IS an international airport, which is not necessarily related to the size of the area in which it is located.

How do you figure McAllen, Amarillo, Beaumont...but not Corpus Christi? CC has the density, major military bases and the 6th largest port in the nation. If that's not major then neither are the other 3. If you went to NYC and mentioned you were from McAllen, I doubt they'd know where that is. However if you mentioned CC, I guantee they'd know where that is. Name recognition has a lot to do with it as well.
