Why use density? You could easily add in Waco, Corpus, Midland, Killeen, and more if you include lots of those cities.

This thread is funny.

There are only 3 major cities in Texas...Houston, Dallas, & San Antonio.

Basically if you pull out a globe and your city is on it...then it is a major city. 'nough said.

Two major cities: Houston and Dallas.

Then you have Austin and San Antonio behind. SA is NOT on Houston/Dallas' level. It is on Austin's level. Don't know why people try to say SA is much more important than Austin because it's metro is slightly bigger. DFW is larger than Houston...

If SA was more important, wouldn't it have a busier airport/more flights to more destinations, among other things?

We're talking major cities here population wise, not size of airports.

San Antonio's population numbers don't even include the thousands of illegal immigrants in the city.

As we still sit here 22 pages deep, 217 replies, 7463 views, & the OP still hasn't been back to elaborate on what he meant by a major Texas city.

I give up! Throw in the towel on this one.

The Fort Worth Metro area is larger than Austin but does that make Ft Worth a major city. Of course Austin is number 5 in my book

Houston
Dallas
San Antonio
Fort Worth
Austin
RGV
El Paso

And Austin's do?

SA's population is not that much different than Austin's. And since that's how you want to rate a city's importance, DFW is MUCH MORE importan than Houston.
