I hate being in the car more than a couple hours. Road trips bore me senseless.

Dude are you writing a book? 21 posts and they are all quizzes & you post once in each?

Bizarre.

Too many variables to pick one — it depends on where I’m going. I’ll almost never fly unless there is some family emergency or no other option. I could spend pages recounting plane trip horror stories...but I won’t. I’ll drive more often than anything else. Most of my trips are week or more vacation travel and I generally don’t drive more than 500 miles a day. I enjoy staying at historic hotels and post a travel blog on them. I like long distance trains and will take a train if it fits my plans. Amtrak is a mess and should be replaced with a real national passenger rail system at some point. Some people hate it, I love it and I enjoy visiting with other travelers but also like having my own space. Bus travel more than six blocks is not on my menu, ever.

It's okay to get a taste of home while on the road. Popping into a Subway or Burger King every once in a while is a nice treat of something familiar, despite many people rolling their eyes that someone would dare eat there while traveling in overseas foodie destinations.

I remember stumbling upon a Taco Bell after almost a month in Korea, I almost had tears in my eyes.

I didn't think much of Prague.

I love Moscow in the winter.

I hate hotels. Avoid them as much as possible.

I dislike renting someone else's condo / room / house / airbnb or its ilk when on vacation. Often times those rental units have sh!tty furniture and lousy bed that guarantees back pain. I would rather pay more and stay in a hotel room.

Beaches are all the same and boring after a while.

We prefer a small travel trailer with zero slides. We enjoy staying in places with no hook-ups, we've had a travel trailer for a year and a half and we've never even used the microwave, and we don't have a t.v. in it either.
