personally i am glad to see airlines are reducing the size of the carry on allowed . it has been getting nuts . with everyone bringing full size carry on the over head bins have no room for other passengers stuff . it has been slower getting on and off too as many can't get these bigger carry on's down .

i for one will not be sorry to see the dimensions shrink . they should have changed the allowable sizes once so many started filling up the bins with unchecked luggage .

My unpopular opinion is that I think it's ok not to totally immerse yourself into the places you visit. Immersion is a matter of degree and it's up to the individual tourist to decide how much to try to experience the local cuture in an authentic way, as opposed to sticking to tourist activities.

I prefer checking my luggage... who wants to lug a heavy suitcase through the whole airport, especially if you have to change planes along the way? Not to mention trying to get them through security! As long as the important stuff (like meds, wallet, phone, and a book) is in my carry-on, I'm willing to take a chance with losing/delaying the rest. And honestly, in all the years I've been traveling by plane, my luggage has NEVER been permanently lost; just delayed a little once or twice.

Also, I prefer cheap motels like Motel 6 to fancier places, even if somebody else is footing the bill. I tend to stay up very very late with the TV on, plus I'm a smoker - so I'm much more likely to be allowed those things, and not annoy any of my "neighbors" in a cheap motel. And I hate B&Bs for basically the same reasons. In fact, I usually refer to them as being like "staying at grandma's house."

Funny that I just posted the OPPOSITE as an "unpopular opinion" - and I think my response is more accurate to the thread, since it seems like everyone these days carries on. So it's not as unpopular as you apparently think.

And I can figure out how to do that just fine; it's not rocket science, lol. But as someone with physical limitations (arthritis in my case), even pulling a rolling suitcase through a large airport can cause joint pain for days afterwards.

That's why theirs is an unpopular opinion... most people would disagree.

When going to attractions, pick the ones that would still be there if there weren't any tourists. The ones that are put up specifically for the tourists are there to get your money.

I’d argue with the first part but yeah, all beaches get boring very fast.

My other unpopular opinion: middle seat on a plane is not the end of the world.
