As per the conversion of at least one of the two golf courses at Reid into park space, there is a group called "The Friends of Reid Park" who seem to getting some traction in this area: https://www.facebook.com/friendsreidpark?filter=1

Basically their point is that dedicating so much of the park to such a singular purpose is pretty inappropriate for a municipal facility, and Reid Park is Tucson's best chance to have a signature park, one which people identify with the city. I tend to agree, at least about the golf course.

No response or counter-offer today. Just SILENCE.

7 cancellations at Basis at this point. We are not that far down on the waiting list now.

Had a potential buyer come through our home today.

All in all.... good things are happening.

Nice. My GF's brother just got his son into BASIS and he's very excited about it.

As for silence - well - it could mean anything. The market really seems to have slowed around here, so I doubt the seller is sitting on a bunch of offers and biding his time. More likely he did like the rest of Tucson and called Friday a half-day. It's too nice here for working and home selling and other such nonsense!

Nicely put.

Tomorrow is their "deadline" by which to respond.

They wouldn't accept any price we gave... even an "as-is" option paired with a strong offer.

Very frustrating.

Default Seller's market?

Has the property generated a lot of interests? Is the seller getting multiple offers from other buyers? Either that or it's possible the seller is having second thoughts about selling.

atlarge,

There were two other interested parties that I know of. One made an official offer and was rejected. The other was in the process of submitting an official offer, I believe.

Their realtor assured our realtor that they are serious about selling. Just not for the price we offered.

Could be they are nearly underwater on it and need to get near to the asking price just to cover their costs. No shortage of "for sale" signs around town, though, so I'm sure you'll find a good spot.

Sometime you have to offer full price. Most homes sell within 5% of the asking price. Everything in mid-town is going to be a little bit more expensive than east, south or west. I made a full price offer knowing two other offers were coming in. If you have a couple of other places you are interested in you could move on to one of those.

By the way its 80 degrees outside right now and it looks like winter is done for.
