I've watched the first scene of season 5 about 4-5 times in a row. Here's my take:
At least one member of the family is dead, possibly all of them. Walter White has the look of despair and ruin. His attitude suggests that all is lost, and the whole reason he started this meth thing was to take care of something that is now gone, taken from him because of what he has become.

One other thing: I bet the cancer has returned because of cooking meth in the pest-infected houses.

His system might be comprimised whereas a healthy person could withstand the pest-control substances......

They should have made the character bipolar - he would have won for sure.

I was expecting them to win more too but Homeland was so good! Very thankful Mad Men didn't win again though.

Theey weren't cooking at the same time houses were being fumigated. They did the cook, finished up, and THEN the fumigators did their thing.

Meh...I'm about 2/3 through the first season of Homeland and it's nowhere near Breaking Bad quality imo. Way too many eye-rolling moments (I've never had a single watching BB). Lots of unrealistic dialogue. It lacks the humor and quirkiness of BB as well; it's just a slightly above average tv drama.

I like Mad Men even less. Couldn't get through more than 2 episodes.

I WISH there were other shows as good as Breaking Bad but it's truly in a league of its own.

When is the rest of the season to air? A few months? Next summer?
