The Son of Sam said his neighbors dog was talking to him. Do you believe that?
Fighter pilots are some of the best trained and most intelligent people in the military, they go thru constant and rigorous training and physical/ mental examinations...are you seriously comparing fighter pilots with a serial killer? LOL
Besides that, Son of Sam was ONE GUY (who made the claim about his dog)...Numerous pilots have went on the record about what they have seen , and the descriptions are exactly the same...
Other than Son of Sam, name another person who has made the claim he did (about the dog talking to him).
the term 'flying saucer' was coined after one of the first witnesses to see one, described it as looking like 2 saucer plates stuck together,
Whose to say what the tic tacs would look at night, or what kind of lights they have on them?
There are numerous shapes of UFOs reported today, from circular, oval, tear drop, triangular, rectangular, square, cylinderical, donut shaped, are the most common ones. Who knows what the different shaped craft represent for that matter, maybe their technology advances too, and the old flaying saucer shape is out dated? Square is the last shape I would think of for an aircraft, but surprisingly there are many who see them. As far as mis identification, Im not sure what else would be square that man has up there.
Thanks, I guess you're right; I vaguely recall reading a report about a triangular-shaped one. The tic-tacs are pretty cool, though; they're the first sighting of UFO's that are submersibles as well as air-born. I wonder why they were observing the Navy's exercises? They even submerged, as if to check out the submarines. Ya think it might be a secret project of the Russkies?

Its not only the tic tacs that have been seen underwater, discs, cylinders, circles, rectangles, etc have all been seen coming or going from large bodies of water.
In fact, one of the guys involved with Project Blue Book decades ago, witnessed a craft malfunction in shallow water and saw alien beings repairing it underwater, this made him change his opinion on the project too.

Blah, blah, blah paul. You are all for highly trained people saying things when you agree with it but when you don't you ignore it.
Yes, Pilots are highly trained but not in intelligent extra terrestrial beings. There is NO evidence these are intelligent extra terrestrial beings. But paul you seem to believe anything so you can believe this and that your neighbors dog is talking to you.

Pilots KNOW aircraft very well ( have you listened to what the Navy pilots said about this thing they encountered?)
There are really only 3 explanations for these craft and according to the DOD, 2 are unlikely...
1. some other country has leap frogged the US by decades in technology (not very likely)
2. experimental or secret Govt/military aircraft (not likely, as they would not engage with regular military)
3.exterrestrial/ extradimensional/ Not from here.

This statement, you just made, proves what Old Guard just said. You qualify the first two possibilities as not likely and you point us towards the extraterrestrial or beings from another dimension. You ignore all other possibilities.
I still think you left out one very possible explanation. It would be possible that we learned how to use lasers to project a holographic figure that can be detected by the enemy and enemy radar. It would be a great distraction and a waste of their ammunition if we could accomplish that feat. It would also give away their position and expose their locations. How better to test such technology than to let our military chase them down in a 'controlled' environment? Of course, if this is the case, we have many that quickly would jump on an UFO explanation and not see the reality behind this testing.

Regardless; I wish everybody a Happy New Year!
The pilots mentioned they were able to lock on targets with their fighter jets, and they also cast a shadow, so the items had mass and were not holographic,

If we could superheat moisture in the air it might be possible to not only heat up the air; but also might have cast a shadow; the later not being that likely (but I don't know, only speculating). Superheated air could show up on the radars. It does sound like it could be a great military advantage to be able to distract our enemies in such a way. Some of our best missiles are extremely expensive and the same for those on the other side. If we could get our enemies to think they are fighting us or a technologically advance enemy; then it would definitely be worth a try. They, the enemy would be wasting their own ammunitions on their own territory and would not have any idea who to blame.
It would be a win/win and then we would have some people that would blame the aliens and we could sit back and have a good laugh!

I think we have discussed this already...if these were experimental aircraft, 1), they would not be operating where they were and 2), they would definitely not be engaging or toying around with the regular military.
Ive read about a very few cases in that past, when the stealth bomber was still experimental, sometimes people would see them and report them as 'UFOs', a few times, jets were scrambled to intercept, and once they got into the area, the pilot of the stealth bomber made it known he was flying an experimental aircraft and was based out of 'X' Base (area 51, or wherever he was from).
Point is, the 'experimental' aircraft would alert the regular military to their presence, it would be very dangerous if they did not do this, they could be shot down.
Plus, according to some more recent things Ive read, Im pretty sure whenever experimental or secret project aircraft are sent up, they do inform radar tracking institutions, just to let them know its them operating, so they are not mistaken for an enemy or an unknown. ( Im sure this could be verified as well).
