In any case though, a Toronto winter would be much better than here, no doubt about it. Their current weather looks fantastic.
Just come to Moncton the snow capital of the Maritimes. There's an average of 325 cetemeters each winter. More than Saint John, Fredericton and Charlottetown, Halifax and Sydney. Lots for you to play in.

England is too cold and wintry but not as bad as my city, and the southern parts of England are a bit warmer. Snow in London seems to be a rare thing.

YES! When I lived back in Virginia I hated winter all though to be honest I was by the coast so it was a relatively mild winter in comparison to up north, We would get like one or two days of small snow a year maybe but I still hated the months of daytime highs in the high 30's but the killer was the 20-30 mph wind we frequently would get along with those high 30's.

But I also hated the humid sticky summers back home too, my favorite time of year was really fall and spring

Now that I live in LA at least for me I truly feel like I'm in paradise as far as weather goes, even on the so called cold days we've had here a few times already where daytime highs are like 58-62 I still love it because from what I'm used to anything above 55 during the day and with the sun shining in the winter is just fine with me.

Mm. Lovely jubly.

Still more snow, Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, March 1, 2011, by JarvisEye, on Flickr

Actually, that's a bit excessive, but better than no snow.

You're all weak. What if the Russkies attack America? 90% of the populace would flock to Florida to make a last stand when they can't tolerate anything below 40F?

I remember that winter and how horrible it was.

I hated winter where I lived previously, in the Midwest- where the landscape was dead and brown, it was too cold, and frequently snowed. I actually kind of like it here where I live now in Seattle- cool but not too cold, stays green, with rain instead of snow- to me that is good. My only gripe would be that it would be nice if daytime highs were about ten degrees warmer- so instead of 45 degrees every day, it was 55 instead. That would be winter perfection!

Do you think the summer haters on here are wimps too? Those who cry with any days approaching hot and humid?

I would agree.

I've spent a lot of time in different climates...and right around 50 - 55 F is where the "feel" of a real winter seems to fade. Granted I'd rather spend the winter in Florida or southern Califorina - but a place with highs over 50 F in the coldest month (January) would not be so bad. Even if you figure in a standard deviation of around 8 F for most areas of the USA - the handful of "coldest days of the year" would still have highs in the low/mid 40's F, not so hard to take. In the USA there is still a modest about of areas that have average highs above 50 F in January:

I dislike temperature extremes, so I am not terribly fond of winter. However, I hate summer much more. I'd rather take a freezing cold winter than a blistering hot summer. As the saying goes...you can wear more layers when it gets cold.
