On a bigger scale - the world has plenty enough fame, billionaires and movies without the help of the United States. This isn't an attack against the U.S other than to put things into perspective for some posters who believe that the most famous player on the team = the team
Says it all when we're comparing one country to the rest of the world. No one country can compete with the US regarding this topic. It's really not even close. I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything-- that's not at all how I'm trying to come across -- just using this post as an example, but it's the truth.
But the title of the Thread is why does America have ALL the fame, celebrities, movies, billionaires etc when it simple does not. It is the largest single example yes, that is the truth but the tone of this thread opens things up to attacking its premise by means of its title.. I mean it isn't like the U.S doesn't have a perception of arrogance problem.....If you have the biggest house on the street everyone knows that, but nobody likes the neighbour who goes around shouting about it to everyone that he does whilst shoving his nose at everyone else! Would you like that neighbour?

You should be happy you have such awesome neighbors.
A lot of actors and actresses are Aussie exports. Even British Kate Winslet has Australians in her family!
Maybe they were returning home! How many Aussies have Britons in their family tree?
Famous Aussies born in Britain:
John Farnham -- England
Olivia Newton John -- England
Bee-Gees -- England
Sam Worthington -- England
Naomi Watts -- England
Guy Pearce -- Engand
Angus/Malcolm Young & Bon Scott (AC/DC) -- Scotland
Jimmy Barnes -- Scotland
Colin Hay (Men at Work) -- Scotland
You should be thankful the British still emigrate in great numbers to Australia.
