101. Hampton Park

City: Charleston, SC
Category: Tours & Attractions
Telephone: (843) 724-7327
Address: 30 Mary Murray Dr.

Description: As children, we came to Hampton Park to play around the 60 inner-city acres, so it’s a particular treat to experience the park these days with the next generation. Children delight at the same simple pleasures we remember: feeding ducks and geese in the pond, smelling the gorgeous roses, and just frolicking in the wide-open spaces. The parcourse exercise trail is a favorite of older children and adults. The Piccolo Spoleto finale, a city-sponsored Easter Egg hunt, and in-line skating night during warm weather are great reasons to plan a Hampton Park visit. The park is free, but keep in mind the midtown location and possible safety concerns if you’re venturing to Hampton Park at night.
