Critical: PLUMBING - BACKFLOW PREVENTION DEVICE - WHEN REQUIRED Observation: The threaded faucet at the mop sink does not have approved backflow/siphon protection.
Correction: Provide an approved hose connection vacuum breaker/ backflow prevention device. Plumbing systems shall be provided with backflow prevention at each point of use in the food establishment.
Critical: SEWAGE - APPROVED SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEM Observation: A new sewage system has been installed for restaurant use.
Correction: Provide verification that the sewage system is approved through DSPS.
CONSUMER ADVISORY Observation: The consumer advisory must include a disclosure that describes or indicates which menu item might be served undercooked.
Correction: Provide a consumer advisory with disclosure for animal foods served in a raw or undercooked condition.
FOOD TEMPERATURE MEASURING DEVICES - PROVIDED Observation: No thermometer is present for monitoring temperatures in foods.
Correction: Provide thermometers that are easily accessible and capable of taking temperatures in food.
HANDWASHING SINKS, INSTALLATION - NON-HAND OPERATED Observation: The toilet room hand sinks available for employees are not non-hand operated.
Correction: Employee handwashing sinks shall be non hand operated.
PLUMBING - SYSTEM MAINTAINED IN GOOD REPAIR Observation: The plumbing is not completed for the food preparation sink, also any above grade tank lid must be locked.
Correction: Provide complying plumbing for the food preparation sink. Food sinks require an air-gap at drain to sewer. Lock all above grade tank lids.
SURFACE CHARACTERISTICS - INDOOR AREAS Observation: The toilet room floors and trim (baseboard and door) are wood.
Correction: Provide approved materials. Walls, floors and ceilings shall be smooth, durable and easily cleanable. If located in areas subject to moisture they shall also be non-absorbent. Will refer to program staff for consultation.
