Five become twelve?

Posted 08-19-2009 at 06:58 AM by LookinForMayberry

Mindfulness training teaches me to be present without holding on to any past or future.

It GOT me!

No sooner did I grasp the expectation of getting my puppy on Sunday, when the "rug" of reality tripped me up. Unexpected circumstances moved out the transport, now at least another week.

Ommmmmmmmm.........

All that we can really count on is the Absolute.

Blessings to Mrs1885 in her continued care of my Bigun.

Where ARE we, again?

Posted 08-19-2009 at 05:43 AM by LookinForMayberry

One of the drawbacks of trying to tour the entire country in two years is that I am constantly trying to recall where we were, when... or where we ARE, now. The disorientation from this almost constant unknowing is probably what has led me to so many of the spiritual epiphanies I've experienced. Lord, help me stay attuned!

We've been camped here since yesterday afternoon, and I only just now learned that we are in Lockport, NOT Cambria (as I'd thought). In fact, Weather.com...

I am SO excited to soon be holding that little black squirmy body, and smell puppy breath. He'll be just three days short of his third month, and I know he's had the best of fun with his litter mates. No one I know is more dedicated to the welfare of her charges than Mrs1885, God bless her.

Zugor is coordinating the transport north, and I am not certain how it's going, but I know it's in good hands. We've got all his puppy things ready for him, including his Frontline.

Posted 08-18-2009 at 01:33 PM by LookinForMayberry

On our drive here to Cambria, NY we listened to a podcast from Reverend Hamilton, of Kansas City's UMC. As I listened, I realized that I, too, have been a little filled with myself. I've given unsolicited advice to others, when my own life was not exactly trouble free. I've thought myself more capable, better looking, and even smug when pretending to be attentive to others. OMG, have I got some work to do!

On the other hand, thank God I could receive the message. I think I will look...

The Fabric of our Life

Posted 08-16-2009 at 05:14 AM by LookinForMayberry

We spent our last day in MA, yesterday, visiting a family friend in Swampscott. It was nice to talk with someone that knew our family, in addition to being a charming, intelligent, and thoughtful host.

While we delighted in his conversations about his studies in family genealogy, my good friend in Tucson was visiting her dying sister. Her sister recently received the results of her post-chemo and radiation therapies, and learned that while some cancer was killed, others had not been...
