Posted 07-29-2008 at 08:35 PM by poconoproud

The state game bird of Pennsylvania is the ruffed grouse. Sometimes referred to as a partridge, this well-camaflouged brown and red colored bird is known for a drumming noise that it makes when attracting a mate.

This game bird's population is in danger of being in decline due to rural and suburban development. Grouse love to hunt & peck through the underbrush and through deciduous forested...

3 days of madness.

Posted 07-29-2008 at 08:10 PM by Katzztar

Today was productive and counter-productive at the same time. I called Greyhound to inform them that I have a disablity and will need help at transfers with my luggage. I bought my ticket for Friday as well.

Well I got rid of a lot of furniture this afternoon. I gave most of it away and sold some others. I'm embarrassed to say I have more a mess now than before. I ran out of boxes and so to clear off the large corner desk we had to stack things on the floor. I kept a calm head...

MOVING, the worst excitement ever!

Posted 07-29-2008 at 04:22 PM by massagemamma

Boxes to pack...
What do we take?
What do we sell?
Do you think anyone will buy our old toaster?
What if no one wants the furniture?
There's always Goodwill, TAX DEDUCTION!
Leaving my friends behind.
Leaving my family behind! (yay)
Don't know where we will live when we get there.
Don't know where we will work when we get there.
The chance to start all over again,
I get to reinvent myself.
I hope my husband will...

Posted 07-29-2008 at 03:36 PM by JerichoHW

What Makes Chicago A World City??? That is a question often brought up in the City-data forum. Even if you don't want to admit, Chicago is a world city. There are so many things that make this city special, and on the world stage. I have multiple criteria that make Chicago a world city.

Transportation:
O'Hare International Airport
Midway International Airport
Metra system
CTA System

Museums:
Field Museum
Museum of Science & Industry...

When in Raleigh, be sure to check out the many historic neighborhoods in the downtown area!

Posted 07-29-2008 at 09:43 AM by North_Raleigh_Guy

As my username suggests, I live in North Raleigh. However, that does not mean I don't enjoy the beauty of the many historic neighborhoods in and around downtown Raleigh. I highly recommend people new to the area check out the areas of Oakwood, Mordecai, Boylan Heights, Five Points and Cameron Park on a nice spring or fall day. The architecture and mature landscaping to be found in these neighborhoods is quite a site to behold. I like to take pictures of historic homes as a hobby and have posted...
