As for me I'd translate more correct: "Ресторан Толстого Фредди" or better "У Толстого Фредди".

And after all, Nome is only about 200 miles from Russia. Stands to reason there would be some Russians around.

The Seward Peninsula area has always been of particular interest to me. Isn't it mostly Inupiaq that far north? I believe it is, if I've got my facts straight, but for some reason when I think of the Inupiaq, I always think of Kotzebue and up, and really what most immediately comes to mind is the North Slope, north of the Brooks Range (Point Hope is nearly parallel to the northern foothills of the Brooks) up to Barrow. The Seward Peninsula is kinda in the middle there, between Yup'ik country and Inupiaq country, so for some reason it always seems to slip my mind, even though the photographs I've seen from that area (especially around Teller and the mountains north of White Mountain and Elim) are totally spectacular. Really beautiful country out there, if the photos are any indication.

If you enlarge it, this is a really beautiful overhead view of Elim, and a good example of what I'm talking about. Well, that, and there are some much more dramatic shots of mountains from that area, like this one, if you go on Google Maps and do the little street view thingy where it brings up photos. (enlarge to get the full beauty of it)

Merry Christmas from Sverige (Sweden)

This is a new village sign. The other one was demolished in a tornado a week ago. As you can see some shredded trees in the background.
