Two points.

First, it's not unconstitutional. Nobody's being searched, nobody's being seized. Asking for ID is not contrary to any constitutional clause. You do it when you go to the airport; when you pay with a credit card; when you take out a loan. It's no different.

Second, if they were to do a prevent-type law, then people would scream about abusive tactics at the border. I'd rather have some people slightly inconvenienced to show their ID when asked, than have people shot and killed just because they want a better life. Just me.

What's wrong with BOTH, LVD . . . as well as eliminating ALL incentives?

Good point, ArizonaBear.

What about the hundreds, possibly thousands, Mother Nature "eliminates" every Summer in the desert?

Wrong. You are walking down the street and a cop thinks you are an illegal. Does he have the right to ask you your citizenship? No. Do you have to answer the question? No.

It's not about regular I.D. cards like drivers licenses. The cops will be looking for proof that you belong in the Country. Passports, Visas, Green cards.

In Arizona, Hispanic Americans that look like they MIGHT be illegals will be asked to prove citizenship. That's called a POLICE STATE.

Mod Cut: No soliciting.

Although our southern border does need to be sealed off to effectively stop the flow of people across except at controlled checkpoints since Mexico is imploding.

No one is for illegal immigration, except for the businesses that hire them and the illegals themselves.

Sad to hear you think it's a good idea to profile your Hispanic neighbors.

Bravo Arizona....there is a REASON why they are called "ILLEGAL" aliens...it is because they are in this country illegaly (you know...against our laws).....I saw stats the other day on the percentage of murders and violent crimes attributed to "ILLEGAL ALIENS"......it was staggering. Arizona had to do something before it was too late......

You guys who are against the new laws need to get your act together. Half of you are trying to scare us by saying that the cops are going to check everybody now, even plain old white folks. The other half of you guys are saying that they're going to specifically profile Hispanic people. So, which is it?
