One needn't have 'faith' that there is no god. All that is required is awareness of what is demonstrable and what is not; or, to use a Biblical analogy, 'separate the wheat from the chaff'.
It seems that believers use the argument of 'personal revelation' when backed into a corner, as though that is an unanswerable proof. Too bad the revelations don't agree with one another, and that people are capable of dreaming, hallucinating, etc.
"At the very least, it appears we should ignore anyone who tells us that god has spoken to him. This survey provides some solid scientific evidence that what he has heard is only the god of his own mind; his “personal god,” you might say".
Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or may be thought to be. Fantasy land is not a part of reality. Sorry.
Reality is in how you perceive it.
You may think rollercoasters are fun. That isn't my experience, or reality.
Actually, in the cold light of day we find that perception is not reality. Unless confronted by conscious awareness, perception is what we react to, as if it was reality. Perception is a kind of story, made up of filtered memories, projections, assumptions, and most importantly interpretations of stimuli.
Same with God, or anything else, it depends on who you're asking and what their experience was. If you find someone that has experiences outside what most people do, it does not make them "wrong".

Everything is an opinion. There are no "facts". There are matters that many people experience in the same way that we call "facts", but there are no true facts.
Your reality may say that the sky is blue, but for the blind guy living next to you, it isn't.
