I predict the flight data recorders, if found will be have the data expected. Once the place is in the air, the pilot really can't disable them.

off topic but there's 300 mostly kids missing from the ferry sinking in South Korea...another tragedy. Just as many people probably lost as this missing flight, but I guess they will have an easier time bringing up that vessel. Those poor parents, this is horrible.

I have seen a couple of "major" conspiracy theories which just won't die. One was the killing of JFK; the other was the bombing of the WTC.

I didn't live through the JFK assassination, but having read a great deal about the events that day, it is very clear that the facts we have been given (for lack of a better way to put it), are accurate. For those non-believers, read the Secret Service accounts of what happened. There clearly was no 'guy on the mound' or whatever whacko thesis is alternative presented.

I WAS at the WTC and saw/heard/knew the events as they unfolded. It was all pretty straightforward. I worked in those buildings for many years. All the nonsense about the buildings being wired with explosives is just nonsense. The facts that day are pretty simple. Tragic. Painful. But not all that complicated. Once again, attempts to spin things that simply didn't happen are simply imagination gone awry.

These things are not complicated. Logical events took place. There really is no reason to spin them into something other than what really happened.

Who knows what the demise of MA 370 is all about, but we 'know' a great deal already, and are likely to know more once the discovery/recovery phase is completed. Once again, all of these conspiracy theories about the plane being in Afghanistan, for instance, are just silly dreaming by people creating scenarios which simply don't exist.

Now, about that shadow of the US flag on the moon......

You can trip the circuit breaker to disable them, and on some Boeing aircraft (I'm not certain about the 777), you can erase CVR data from the cockpit.

Everything electrical has an 'off' switch.

The breakers for the recorders are downstairs in the electrical equipment center not upstairs. There are two sets of breakers too.

I was wondering where they would be located. I don't stick my head in there very often, as its not my job.

I wasn't suggesting that it was easy to trip the breakers, but it would be possible.

We know a great deal already? Like what? All we know is the plane is missing. Everything else we have been told is information made public. And the source that made it public? The same sources that have retracted earlier statements and thrown a bone here and there. It is up to us to believe or not. Again, educated guesses - no facts. A comparison to Air France keeps coming up - that it took two years to find the recorder. Yes, but it only took six days to find a small amount of debris. I don't know about Afghanistan, but since no evidence of an ocean crash has revealed itself, I don't see how people can be so certain.

On marinetraffic.com it shows that only two ships are currently searching the area where the pings were located. Most other ships returned to the first search area much to the southwest where the last INMAR SAT blips came from. Guess they return to the debris search there.

Those are the only 2 ships that have been at that search site for several days, unless there are ones that are not showing up on the site, which I think might be the case. Those 2 Chinese ships and the Australian warships that are alongside them have traveled a southwest route for several days, as well. Now, it looks like they've turned around to head back.

'A ship, or even aircraft, following the news, could have easily flown, or sailed over the suspect area and dropped afew black boxes or pingers down in the area. We have nothing but speculation. I for one am not buying anything being reported anymore. Even if they do "find' the airplane. Too many lies already to believe anything. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me. So what does, fool me 32 times as in this case mean?
