Again from the above linked report:
"Diego Garcia, a remote island in the middle of the Indian Ocean with a runway long enough to land a Boeing 777 was programmed into the home flight simulator of the pilot of the missing Malaysia Airlines plane, it has been revealed."

Yawn...how many times will Chris Goodfellow's theory be posted in this thread? It was originally written six days ago (EDIT: written on 3/13). We now are being told that the co-pilot's final verbal check-in was done after the off-course left turn. If that's true, this theory is implausible.

So what? It's logical that a flight simulator would have many airfields programmed into it.

Yeah, it would, if we had any clue. If it were that easy to solve, it would have been solved already.

A single malfunction on a modern commercial airliner, especially if it is rare, can unleash many other malfunctions to which on board computers and pilots will respond. Each response by man or machine then has consequences to which both man and machine must further adjust. All of these adjustments interact. What you can end up with any number of series of responses that return the aircraft systems to some sort of stable state, perhaps not optimal, but stable enough to avoid disaster. You also can end up with a large number of series of responses that deviate away from stability into chaos. The possibilities can be very large.

This plane is at the bottom of an ocean, somewhere, the victim of a chaotic adjustment path.

The first is speculation, the later is just a Hollywood movie plot presented as news. I have a strong distaste for this type of tabloid journalism, especially in light of the mis-information we were presented early in the investigation soon after the disaster unfolded.

Link to back up your claim, please.

The latest theory????
There is no "theory" about Diego Garcia. The assumption is that the flight was lost at sea (as in crashed/destroyed) with all hands - where and why, we don't know yet. That's why the global community is spending tons of resources searching the ocean for signs. That's it at this point, end of story. Any other ideas in my opinion I can't even alleviate to the status of "theory" because they are so unlikely and/or there is absolutely nothing to substantiate the claims. Maybe the proper phrase to use is a "hypothesis". The press is simply throwing out ideas to sell papers, they are otherwise as clueless as us, and the internet community is throwing around conspiracy ideas simply because they have no other information.
