Raptors rode a franchise playoff record 44-point first quarter and big first half to find themselves in an unfamiliar position: ahead 2-0 in a playoff series.
First time in their history that's happened. Demar DeRozan led the team with 37 points, tying his previous playoff high.
Needless to say, Washington will do whatever they can to make sure it doesn't get to 3-0. But they have their work cut out for them. Raptors dressed 13 players and played all of them.
Who says you have to shorten the bench in the playoffs?
Oh jyeah, New Orleans about to take a 2-0 lead against Portland, Dilliard with tons of turnovers, what happened to him?
That's one potential upset that doesn't surprise me. I felt the Blazers overachieved a little during the regular season, and AD is more than capable of carrying the Pelicans on his back to a series win.
I'm becoming a fan of AD by the day. I definitely have called him overrated through his first five years or so--injuries, missed time, no playoff success--but the way he played after losing Boogie this year earned my trust. And they are going to eliminate Portland, nobody on that side can check him...
Holiday and Playoff Rondo (always been a Rondo fan!) are whipping the most overrated backcourt in the league. I knew Holiday was good, but holy hell, he's even better than I thought. The Blazers are in big trouble...
AD is a better defensive player than Durant, and lately his offense has been better than Durant too, so if we disregard Durant's past individual accolades (MVP, Finals MVP etc.) I'd rank AD ahead of him in terms of what they are doing this season.
Wade wrapped up Simmons when he had an easy dunk. Ended up missing one of the free throws. Those 3 plays alone are an 8 point swing late in the game.
When Wade fouled Simmons that was at 6:16 in the 4th Quarter with the score 96-89.
By 4:29 the score was 98-96, so Wade's foul (and Simmons' free-throw) was the start of a great sequence for Philly.
I expect the Wizards to win Game 3 at Home on Friday Night.
