I haven't been to Atlanta in 16 years. Track down the black individuals interviewed in the article you're too scared to address and ask them about it. The formation of new municipalities is endless in Altanta's MSA, they make a new town every couple months it seems.

My brother has never lived in Atlanta. He lived in LA Maine NYC Boston and DC

Our friend here knows skin color can be very profitable, just look at farraKhan-Cullors and farraKendi.

it is one thing that defines me whether I want it to or not. Consume me? No, I just relish in my being black, I appreciate the dual-lens it gives me. That much is advantageous. But If you haven't noticed I haven't been here for like a week. 98-99% of my time is spent doing things.

YOU should spend less time fearmongering and touting racial bias in New England forums. Not a smart decision.

Ever heard of Buckhead? That's the part that has had enough of wonderful Atlanta, what do you think will happen when it goes Buckit?

virtually nothing. absolutely nothing. Atlanta doesnt need Buckhead, or Dunwoody. At all. Its a wildly successful city.

And ultimately people in Atlanta dont care about municipal boundaries. When black people say Atlanta they mean the MSA.

So nothing will happen if part of the city that brings in 40% of tax revenue and only uses 20% of city services goes poof? Weren't you the one screaming about those animals, savages, neanderthals leaving and taking their tax dollars with them the other day?

Substance??? You yourself acknowledged that Atlanta is a mecca for black advancement and culture (probably in the top 2 along with DC), and that it's not a fair bar to hold Boston up to. You routinely push these anecdotal experiences, of which I could easily cherry pick similar accounts of (Atlanta vs. Buffalo, Chicago, Philly, Cincinnati, Birmingham, Richmond, or fill in the blank city _____) to prove whatever narrative I am trying to push.

^And please check the attitude, it ain't helping your cause.

I don't go to any non-hip-hop clubs in Boston the ones that exist are VERY good- like VERY good! I (and others I know) prefer them over DC and Baltimore.

But they are few. I'm not in the right demographic or into non-hip hop music so I cant speak to this but this is also a part of what Chip Greenidge was talking about in the previous article I posted.
If there's so few white clubs too, doesn't that suggest the issue regarding nightclubs is not just about race, but the presence of any clubs?

I'd argue it's not that Boston's voting blocs have a problem with black clubs, but all clubs. They're a major NIMBY, after all.

I'm kind of an old lady at 43 but it seems like clubs in general are on the back burner at the moment?

Feels like club cluture is dead. I was actually going to ask somewhere if one night stands are even a thing anymore?

my kids are 5 and 7...at this point where can i expect them to have their first make out session someday?

I mean Atlanta is a reach but it still talks a lot about Boston's shortcomings. If you find yourself having to make excuses all the time that should be a red flag.

I dont think Chicago Philly or even Buffalo suffers from what Boston does. Cincy and Richmond might.

The article talks about whats possible and what works (more open nightlife, low rent arts district, actually electing black mayors) Much to learn from there. But more importantly, it touches on why black people leave Boston or what they feel it lacks and why that reputation exists.

There is no cause. I am here answering the question in the thread. I don't need people to get onboard. Just asking people to face reality which most here are reluctant to do. And because I can disrupt- I'm not gonna just let that fly if I dont have to. The self-congratulatory and othering attitude doesn't serve anyone well.
