I actually went to that club a time or two, when in my twenties. I was the only white boy in there. Great music, atmosphere, never had a problem. That club was so unique. Above each table, booth was a pole which had a number on it. On each table was red telephone, which you could make or receive calls to/from other patrons....so cool. Anyone else remember?

Clowns Alley in the 1970s @ 6030 W Belmont in Chicago; a Star Beat club, disco, bands and a checker board light-up floor. Reportedly Donna Summers preformed there once on her way to the top. One tragic note, one night at closing a jealous X boyfriend tried to kill his X girlfriend by driving up on the sidewalk to run her over, but instead mangled about 20 people leaving the club.
Since then the club was last known as Chicago Twentyone and was closed sometimes near or around 2005 due to repeated party drug busts. The building still stands [the once light colored blond clown wood carved front now a weathered black] vacated waiting for resurrection or demolition.

Which one of those places on Broadway had the tv screen above the entrance with a person tapping a guy on the top of his head to the tune "I'm Looking Over a Four Leaf Clover?"

I know you have not been to (The Body Snatchers ) club adress East Chicago Heights City new name -------Ford Heights Illinois. The Body Snatchers as they say today it was off the chain. The DJs Puppy Dog, Soul Dog, Shaggy Dog and Chicken Boy
. The club was a big Disco Club in the 80 s in a small town , everybody knew each other. It was a very good place to go dance, drink, and just enjoy yourself. I say best club ever.

Dingbat's was the spot for me in the fall 1976 to June of 1979. I don't remember Mr. T working there and I was a regular but that could be because he had not got the distinct hair-style yet. There were other disco's around Rush street and on north Broadway in the thirty to thirty-two hundred block. Out west near Lake street on Cicero or Laramie, not sure a place called the: Lion's Den, something to that effect.

I can't wait to show him this! Lot's of people still call him Bubba. I just call him John. He still lives in that neighborhood.
My sister and her friends were regulars there, but we're trying to remember the name of another club on belmont ave. and menard across from the "ihop" aprox. 5800 west . any help???
