Well, let's just be clear here. What we had was not a dialogue. It was you not wanting to have a dialogue and therefore doing the message board equivalent of putting your fingers in your ears and yelling, "La, la, la, la ... I can't HEAR you."
I am at a loss to understand how you can accept the God described by barbarians and savages over the one revealed by Christ and still think you are being Christian! It is a true enigma of human psychology and indoctrination.
Unfortunately it is not for you to judge whether or not I am a Christian.
We know why you have to distance the Bible from you, your lifestyle from the Bible while wanting the desire to be still consider yourself as a "Christian" .... and why you'll never understand.

I keep forgetting that you take everything personally whenever I forget and use the collective YOU. I am not judging you or anyone else, Finn. I am simply frustrated and confounded that the category of Christian (follower of Christ and the God He unambiguously revealed) could ever be reconciled with the barbaric and savage God described by our ignorant superstitious ancestors.
Dark times indeed: Lifespans have increased greatly in only a hundred years. Many diseases which wiped out millions have been either eradicated or can now be cured. There are fewer wars than any previous time in recorded history. Women and minorities actually have rights! Lakes in my country, bereft of life because of acid rain in the 60s and 70s, now teem with it. We have the technology to communicate instantaneously with anyone anywhere on the planet, to virtually visit museums and browse libraries without leaving our home. And that technology is available, and affordable, to most of the people in the world.
Dark times, indeed.

about 3400 plus years ago it was:
Moses (Psalm 90:10) 10 In themselves the days of our years are seventy years; And if because of special mightiness they are eighty years,. . .
There are more and worse wars now than ever before in man's history and more dead because of it. Today's man has killed men women and children in more savage and barbarous ways than ever before. ALL sides have. Even "little" wars like Afghanistan uses a cute word for the killing of innocents: "Collateral damage". How barbaric.
Diseases ??? More and worse ones each day AND many deaths occurring because hospitals are not safe any longer. Then we have the VA.
Communications is wonderful as I am sure all those who shopped at target found out. Then pornography dominates the net as it does in movies. Far far worse than our ancestors could ever imagine. Libraries, etc are great, as long as you can read but education today is heading downwards not up.

Mustard Gas, Fire bombing of Dresden and Cologne (intentionally killing men, women and children by fire), Bombing of London, Coventry, Agent Orange, Land mines (Still wounding and killing innocent people today) Atomic bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki (Intentionally killing innocent men, women and chidlren) the ravages of the fall out in those two cities that damaged and killed tens of thousands for generations, the Tuskegee Airmen acts here in the USA and the list goes on. About 40 million men, women an chidlren killed by Stalin and how many Jews by Hitler in gas chambers and other ways. MILLIONS dead from these and tens of millions dead since WWI. The total of all history won't reach that.
Modern man is far more savage and barbaric than ancient man.
