every perspective has a balance, imo--the one to that possibly being "much study makes weary," so i hope you come to see that even study has an end, and too much study is a possibility. That passage has other valid interpretations, also, btw.

There is a vast difference between too much and too little study and most avoid anything more than too little. They do not want to study.

As to interpretation, don't do it, let scripture tell you what it is all about. Avoid a lot of problems that way.

Jesus was referencing:

ASV Deuteronomy 8:3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by everything that proceedeth out of the mouth of Jehovah doth man live.

The Bread only is .... food. The use in context, is the word of God, the Bible. In Deut (A repeat as it were) they were being given God's word and it was being ... written down so they could ... study and understand. Jesus made the point that the same study is needed to ... live.

well, i wasn't disagreeing, notice, but Christ had at least as much to say about the kingdom belonging to little children, and how knowledge can even block wisdom, studying too much is possible, and we're prone to seek some new knowledge rather than "go." Like maybe gran...like some threads here that suggest some arcane knowledge is valuable, when in fact there is prolly no fruit that can be witnessed; sure, it can be interesting, but is the point to gain some knowledge in order to appear more ascendant? You can feed your ego by over-studying the Bible with the wrong heart, imo.

Jesus referenced little children for the purpose-- they are teachable-- so are his true followers.

Yes, one must be teachable like a child. The ways of God are way over mortal thinking, they must be taught.

Well, i have another reflection for you, that being that little children, when asked adult questions, supply answers that are ridiculous to adults, yet make perfect sense to God, iow little kids don't have to learn anything, it is adults that need to remember. The kingdom on earth--our final destination, after all--is quite possibly just how you thought life would be when you were a little kid.

How do you know, the answers make perfect sense to God?
