Indeed. He did. But He knew she couldn't. No one can. Not even you. Which is why Jesus came. Now go and leave your life of sin, Twin. Let us know how that goes for you.
Sadly you're mistaken ... if she could not then Jesus wouldn't have said it.
There is known people recorded in Scriptures who did leave their life of sin.
Some examples are:
#1 Paul (who is one example ironically) wrote through inspiration of God the Holy Spirit that people did leave their life of sin (bold)
"do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God?
Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.
And that is what some of you were." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10
#2 The Apostle John through the same inspiration wrote:
"No one who lives in him keeps on sinning.
No one who continues to sin has either seen him or known him." 1 John 3:6
"We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin;
the One who was born of God keeps them safe, and the evil one cannot harm them. " 1 John 5:18
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The writer of Hebrews under inspiration from God the Holy Spirit wrote:
Hebrews 10:26-27 "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God."

I know you're being cynical for certain reasons but the above listed Scriptures, God the Holy Spirit tells how.
Our prayer is that God the Holy Spirit will lead you to read how people in Scripture did ... how I can ... how you can.

Paul also said that the sin he didn't want to do, he did anyway, and the good he wanted to do, he didn't. Called himself the chief of sinners, as I recall. Did he leave his life of sin, or didn't he?
Pleroo,
But that's the message of the cross that Jesus preached which you're offended by. John 3:16-36 \ John 5:29

Pleroo, You can say all you want you're not "offended" ... the response to BaptistFundie all but says it "offends".
Acting like Christ got him mocked, falsely accused and executed.
Denying the truth about His teachings, or keeping silent about them in order to appease the haters only means you are either ashamed of it, or too afraid to offend people by declaring you are Christian. The truth about the cross is offensive to some, and Jesus said it would be so.

I know you understand this.
Nah. If anything would have offended me, it was the need to repeat something for the "umpteenth" time to the same people. But it didn't, although I do find it frustrating sometimes. But, really, I'm always happy to repeat that God is love, and that all of God's attributes flow from that foundation. It's a beautiful thing to know that we can all trust God because of what God IS.
Even worse is some fake outrage when someone calls someone else on a joke in poor taste.
No one called anyone out on anything. It's an old joke demonstrating how different Christian denominations think there's is the "right" one. You know damn well that there's truth in it.
Your bff there said:
I am sure the idea of pushing someone off a bridge warms the cockles of your heart.
That's not calling someone out. THAT is nothing but nasty. Pure unkindness, and you run up to high-five him, BF? There was no fake outrage. It was REAL outrage. Pleroo is very patient and tries to keep a rational conversation going, even when you and your ilk treat her badly, and that's how you respond to her?
Something is seriously wrong with you people. Terribly wrong. You've got ice where your heart should be, and then you wonder why people reject your self-righteous version of Christianity.
Paul also said that the sin he didn't want to do, he did anyway, and the good he wanted to do, he didn't. Called himself the chief of sinners, as I recall. Did he leave his life of sin, or didn't he?
Did he continue persecuting Christians ... did he continue attempt to be saved through obeying the law ?
"What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body that is subject to death?"
Was the answer in so many words sounded like:
Jesus knew I couldn't. No one can. Not even you Romans. Which is why Jesus came.
Now go and leave your life of sin, Romans. Let us know how that goes for you.
So ..... go continue on with whatever pleases you. The Table is big enough.
I am sure the idea of pushing someone off a bridge warms the cockles of your heart.

It was in direct reference to a joke about pushing someone off bridge.
