Oh and this is my area of VA, 757 Norfolk/Va Beach
This isnt a full showcase of the type of fashion we have here but it gives you an idea of what you can expect to see if you go out to the club down here. You have your bammas like one of the old heads in the first video who had on a fitted with a du-rag...lmao.....and then you have your people who do their thing.

I'd walk away from a ***** trying to talk to me with some clear shoes on! lmao You all can think your style is the best if you want but garauntee EVERYBODY THINKS THE SAME! about their style as well lmao. If you think ppl don't dislike NY style you're sadly mistaken. Everyone does NOT like NY style. Than NY should irk you too since most fashion comes from overseas anyway smh.
most of the headquarters for america are in nyc though , so we get the options first.

my point was NY is heavily influenced by Europe so is LA and any other "fashion capital" in the US. Majority of the big designers in the US are from Europe or somewhere overseas period.

like for example, i had a chance to intern with takashi murakami. where else can you do that at?? tokyo?

so that doesn't apply to ny to be honest.

whats in the street influences celebs AND celebs influence whats in the street. i would say equally here in nyc.

stylists in nyc (and of course in paris, tokyo, london, etc.) dictate the fashion that you see celebs rocking, IMHO. stylists get a lot of their ideas from what they see in the streets here (and the streets of the other fashion capitals).
viniies styles was voted the flyest store in the usa in 2008 , and it even opened a shop in atlanta still selling their brooklyn shirts.

I swear that most cities have the same fashion and styles these days. One city may be more into certain name brands than others or have a style that you probably wouldnt see anywhere else (like how they rock those long shorts/capri's in philly for example) but for the most part everybody is about neck and neck.

But basicly, NYC may still lead the pack, being that it is NYC, but its not up there like it was in the 80's 90's and maybe early 2000's.
i like these comments, someoenf rom am city that never made no type of loud impact in music is talking about why nyc lost its edge in music and fashion.

now i understand the music part, now please show me how ny lost its edge in music?? did the people in your town make that one up to???

if you ever look at hip hop who are the most flyest rappers and where are they from??

so idk where in this world you got the idea of nyc loosing its edge in fashion especially due to the fact that nyc is always the fashion capitol in usa like EVERY YEAR

Now Pretty much Every major city has Access to Upscale and trendy stores and if they cant get it in the store gues what INTERNET I do it all the time.. alot of people are starting there own Boutiques and they have buyers license to order certain brands that you may not find in a MAcys or bloomies etc...
o yes it does which is why people all up and down the eastside of america come to nyc to shop.

the problem with your post is that you say because of the internet and the fact that cities have more stores is the reason they dont look up to nyc.

thats wrong and doesnt even make sense and isnt even near the reason.

us ny,ers wear stuff and others follow period. even with the access to internet people follow our trends, and no matter how much new stores you have people follow our trends.

2 - 3 years ago people laughed at ny rappers wearing fitted jeans claiming it was skinny jeans LMAO

now everyone wants to rock fiitted jeans

Yeah Virginia (757) has never made an impact in music....lol

But we can pretend like NYC didnt fall off a bit in the hip hop department. Its still the 90's and early 2000's to yall.

But honestly bro, I really dont even care to go back and forth with you. This thread is about fashion.
