I have. Back in Houston, there's a burrito place called Mission Burritos.

New stadium (trying to go for the trifecta: best baseball, basketball & football facilities). Candlestick Park (current niner home) is second only to the Oakland Coliseum for worst football facilities. Both are 2 of the oldest stadiums still in use as well. They'll be back though. THEY ALWAYS COME BACK (and with a state of the art stadium too!)!

"ok then what even is a sf burrito?"

It's a burrito. The kind you get at Chipotle is a San Francisco style or Mission (neighborhood in SF) style burrito. Just like a soft pretzel used to be called a NY style pretzel, but they've been everywhere for so long, nobody calls it that anymore.

Obviously the real thing is better, the point is that nationwide, wildly popular burrito chains like Chipotle are using a style that was invented in San Francisco. What most Americans think of when they think burrito is the San Francisco style burrito, even if they don't know it by name. I think Chipotle is terrible as well, but it still uses the same style as the Mission.

It is. Chipotle is out of Denver. They are mimicking the Mission style. In The Mission, they flavor their carnitas and chicken beautifully and there are many more choices of ingredients and combinations.

Chipotle is crap. The only thing it has in common with SF style burrito's are the number of ingredients used and the wrap. The burrito eaten today north of the Mexican border originated in SF. The wrap used today was originally used to accommodate the larger number of ingredients we put in our burritos.. have you ever had an 'authentic' burrito in Mexico? It is a thin 6 inch tortilla with a combination of meat/fish and cheese. That's it. Rice, beans and sauces on the side if you are lucky. So essentially, the concept of American burritos originated in SF, or so the legend goes.
